Autodesk Inventor 2027 · Full course

All lessons, in order

Twelve lectures that take you from an empty Inventor window to a fully dimensioned DIN drawing. Each lesson has the video, written step-by-step instructions with timestamps, the key ideas, common mistakes, a practice exercise and a self-check. Work through them in order, because each one builds on the last.

Every dimension is in millimetres, and every part uses the metric Standard (DIN) templates. You need Autodesk Inventor Professional 2027. Students can get a free educational licence from Autodesk.

Unit 01 — Getting started

Lecture 1 · 10:37 Introduction to Inventor 2027 Templates, IPT vs. STEP, origin planes and the ViewCube, then sketch and extrude your first cylinder.

Unit 02 — Sketching and constraints

Lecture 2 · 14:27 Understanding constraints (Part 1) A centred plate with four holes, dimensioned until the status bar says Fully Constrained. Lecture 3 · 14:32 Tangent, parallel & concentric (Part 2) Inscribed vs. circumscribed polygons, degrees of freedom and relationship constraints.

Unit 03 — Part modelling

Lecture 4 · 14:10 Rectangular pattern, shared sketches & mirror Pattern hundreds of shapes, extrude one sketch twice and mirror about an offset plane. Lecture 5 · 12:00 Practice exercise: Lever handle Model a lever handle from a drawing using circles, tangents, trim and fillet. Lecture 6 · 16:41 Circular pattern, chamfer & thread The curve part: slot outlines, circular pattern, chamfers and M10 × 1.25 threads. Lecture 7 · 15:20 Curved Disk: Project Geometry & cylinder cuts Aligned dimensions, sketching on a face, Project Geometry and patterned cut slots.

Unit 04 — Sheet metal

Lecture 8 · 17:48 Sheet metal bracket Face, flanges, unfold/refold, corner round, double hem and the flat pattern.

Unit 05 — Assemblies

Lecture 9 · 18:57 Place, rotate & ground parts Assembly files, degrees of freedom, grounding, Mate vs. Flush and axis alignment. Lecture 10 · 21:34 Motion constraint, Content Center & Insert Rotation-rotation motion, DIN 912 screws from the Content Center and the Insert constraint.

Unit 06 — Drawings

Lecture 11 · 14:58 Base, isometric & section view A4 DIN sheet, title block, drawing scale, base and isometric views and section A-A. Lecture 12 · 16:26 Center marks, hole notes & dimensions Center marks, Center Pattern, feature notes, DIN dimension styles and tolerances.
