About
CAD taught the way it's taught in the classroom
I'm Smit A. I've spent the last five years teaching CAD design, engineering drawing and additive-manufacturing projects at university. Every lecture on CADsmit is recorded and created by me, for one purpose: to help anyone teach themselves CAD software properly, at their own pace, for free.
I enjoy a good CAD challenge, and I'll keep adding lectures that help you grow both your skills and your enthusiasm for design.
Background
- Bachelor of Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering
- Master's in Engineering and Sustainable Technology Management, with an Industry 4.0 focus on additive manufacturing, robotics and industrial automation
- Five years teaching CAD design, engineering drawing and additive-manufacturing projects at university
How the course is taught
Each lesson models a real part from start to finish, the same way I teach it in the classroom, following DIN standards for the drawings. The lectures run in the order the skills build on each other: interface and project setup, sketching and constraints, part modelling, sheet metal, assemblies, then 2D engineering drawings.
Who it's for
First-year engineering students, apprentices, and anyone moving to Inventor from another CAD program. You don't need any CAD experience: Lecture 1 starts with installing and setting up the software.
Software I work with
Autodesk Inventor, Siemens NX, Rhino and Autodesk Fusion.
